THE NEED TO DO MORE
Founder of Bronzes d'Afrique, Matthieu Fourny first worked in communication strategy. He always had a sensibility with travels and bridges between people.
It's with helping his parents to develop their association in Mali: Villages Dogons that he discover Africa and lost-wax bronzes until one day he decide to quit his job to change his life to build Bronzes d'Afrique.
WHAT DOES IT CHANGE FOR THE WORKSHOP?
Since we first met Issouf, he has recruited and trained more than 25 people. We thus help to perpetuate and develop their art.
We leave the artists total freedom of creation but we discuss a lot about what works best, what we can develop together and new artistic avenues.
All the artists in the workshop are salaried, which allows them to build in the long term to buy a house or send their children to school.
Every week, everyone participates in a team meeting where everyone can express themselves and discuss. They also all have a profit-sharing bonus.
